Darrell Bock has said that miracles are signs that point to a deeper reality. The Acts of the Apostles is full of stories of miracles. One of the best known is Peter and John’s encounter with a crippled man at the temple gate (Acts 3:1-10). In the power of the Holy Spirit the man’s life is dramatically changed, as is the lives of those who see the miracle and then hear Peter’s gospel message.

Newlife Uniting: A Pentecostal Church (23rd May)

Our church, Newlife Uniting, is a pentecostal church. I’m not talking about denomination, or charismatic gifts or worship style. Rather, we are a pentecostal church in that we live out Jesus’ call to bear witness to him and we do so only in the Holy Spirit’s power.

Part of taking our physical health seriously is to undertake and annual medical check up. The doctor measures our ‘vital signs’ like blood pressure, heart rate and weight.
